Very belated review for wonderful stay. Two of us stated in room above pub 3 night in September 2025. Huge beautifully appointed room, king bed, perfect bathtub, corner with windows 2nd floor view onto fun business road (yet totally quiet), Richmond train station just up the street, many food choices both in the pub and on the main street. We had Sunday Roast day one, he pork me beef, lovely jus/gravy boat for each of us (delish!) Day two we both had Fabulous Fish and Chips - huge perfect piece if fish plus beautifully crispy chips. Great selection of beers and other drinks. Very homey pub busy with regulars, with plenty of room and friendliness for visitors like us. Great games on a giant screen plus smaller ones. Living room lounge type area between the pub and restaurant. The staff - super helpful on all fronts: welcoming, ordering, serving, helping with bags, handling billing esp. including a few discounts which came with the reservation. Everything professional, yet human, with a smile and humanity. In particular, the complete staff each had really pleasant genuine personalities and styles - which made us feel so at home. No cookie cutter uniforms or banter here - just "genuine-ness". We would absolutely stay here again, and again. We just really loved the people and the place. Thank you for a great time!
This is a really superb pub. I enjoyed 2 visits here recently for food and also some drinks with a group of crawlers. The staff are super friendly, the decor is lovely with a relaxed vibe and the food is brilliant. Great location close to the train station, I can't wait to go back.
Great hotel in the heart of Richmond steps away from Richmond Station. I found this pub hotel by accident while scouring for a deal outside of the airport area and hit the jackpot. I've walked past this place many times without even noticing it and I wish I had earlier. Great pub, great service, great rooms.
We loved this place and our French friends adored it, they love to stay in character accommodation as one of them usually stays in chain hotels for business. The Orange Tree lived up to expectations. The staff are fabulous, friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Our friends had the full English breakfast two days running which is high praise. We will definitely come back here whenever we come back to the UK. It is ideally situated with the tube and mainline just a few minutes walk. The high street and the river are a walk away and you are surrounded by an exceptional choice of pubs and restaurants. We were spoilt for choice.
The location is great! Good customer service. The TV didn't work and it was almost impossible to flush the toilet. Not a lot of attention to detail, but a beautiful room and location. Id stay there again. Dog friendly and a beautiful place. Excellent shower! The bar and restaurant was very good.
Really enjoyed a two-night stay here. Room was spacious and clean, continental breakfast exceeded expectations, and location could not be beat. I was worried that traffic on the high road or planes from Heathrow might keep me up but I slept like a log. Finally, every single staff member we dealt with bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable. Didn’t eat in the pub but it was wonderful to have it there to pop down for a drink. Highly recommend.

The Orange Tree is an Iconic pub and one of my favourite ports of call whenever I am in Richmond for a drink and one of their monumental Sausage Rolls! Recently I was able to stay at the OT and it did not fail to meet expectation. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautiful. It is a wonderful place to crash if you are in Richmondia for the Rugby or a night out but it is also a place of deep joy and tranquility for a quiet break. We stayed in Room 2 which is a large room and directly above the bar and front entrance. There was an expected low murmor of noise as you would reasonably expect above a pub but it was hardly a distraction. We checked in with Cairo at reception and he was super helpful during our stay - a real asset to the team. Possibly the most cheerful human I have ever met. Thank you
